This project is the first phase of Cole Waterhouse’s flagship regeneration project at Upper Trinity Street in Digbeth, Birmingham.

The 182,986 sq ft residential development will provide 211 apartments across three blocks, alongside amenity space, external works and a shared courtyard, with completion due in Spring 2027. CCL Facades has been appointed to deliver the facade package, contributing to a high-quality building envelope that supports the wider placemaking vision for the area.

Comprehensive Façade Systems Across Multiple Building Elements

CCL Facades is delivering approximately 710 sq m of glazing, including aluminium windows, curtain walling and doors. Window systems are manufactured using Technal Soleal Next 75 profiles, providing strong thermal insulation, airtightness and acoustic performance, while doors utilise PAS24 accredited Technal Stormframe STII commercial sections.

Curtain walling is formed using a capped Technal system with 50mm mullions and transoms, delivering a clean architectural finish. All systems are polyester powder coated and glazed with solar control double glazed units to meet thermal requirements.

The wider façade package also includes 1,900 sq m of standing seam warm roof covering, 1,830 sq m of standing seam wall cladding, 710 sq m of aluminium rainscreen cladding and 170 sq m of soffit cladding, all designed to achieve high levels of thermal performance and durability.

High Performance Envelope Supporting Long Term Building Efficiency

The facade systems have been designed to achieve strong thermal performance, including roof U-values of 0.10 W/m²K and wall cladding U-values of 0.18 W/m²K, supporting the overall energy efficiency of the development. The standing seam systems, rainscreen cladding and insulated build-ups work together to deliver a robust, weather-tight envelope, while integrated guttering and drainage interfaces ensure effective water management.

Through coordinated design, material selection and installation, CCL Facades is supporting the delivery of a high-quality, compliant and visually cohesive facade that contributes to the long-term performance and success of this major regeneration scheme.
